Secure Data Destruction
and Hard Drive Shredding
Compliance with the Data Protection Act, data theft and the potential financial consequences of that theft means it is now more important than ever to ensure your data destruction and disposal procedures are absolutely secure.
Here at Electronic Recycling we have a total commitment to secure data destruction and hard drive shredding. We are also committed to finding way to combine absolute data security with the Circular Economy and the CSR efforts of our customers.
We achieve this in two ways
“Shred the Data, Save the Drive”
The Shred the Data, Save the Drive process uses the Proteus by TelePlan system to securely wipe and re-master the drives to all industry defined standards.
Contributing to the circular economy and to environmental sustainability by thorough testing to determine the functionality and condition of the HDDs, refurbishing them as necessary and connecting them with other markets in the TelePlan global marketplace for resale and reuse.
For clients with regular data destruction requirements and large enough quantities of drives we can locate a Proteus unit on your site to be operated by your own personnel
“Shred the Drive”
Hard Drives that cannot be reused are Securely Shredded in the normal way as part of our Guaranteed Data Destruction Service
How it happens
We send a collection van directly to your premises. Hard drives etc. are collected and brought directly to our facility.
For extreme security needs, we supply a lockable container with the collection. Your data media is placed in the container and the container is locked. The container is then brought directly to our facility and the lock is opened by a senior manager
Drives then either go to our Proteus room for re-mastering or to the shredder for destruction.
You can also arrange to have your data media delivered to our facility and your delivery personnel can supervise the process. This must be prearranged for scheduling reasons.
We provide a full data destruction audit trail. With multiple reporting options available. Data can be provided in the form of a hard copy certificate or via a dedicated online portal as part of a comprehensive tracing and validation process, guaranteeing traceable data or physical destruction for each individual drive.

We can also provide on-site shredding if required. This service is not recommended for small amounts of drives because of cost. Your site must be able to handle a 7.5 metre truck and have all the necessary Health & Safety facilities in place to handle an onsite shedding service.
