We are licenced by Dublin City Council as a drop off location for Household Appliance Recycling, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, ( WEEE )

There is no charge for households to drop off Household equipment as the cost of Household Appliance Recycling is covered by the Irish Producers Compliance Scheme.

Directions to Electronic Recycling from Jamestown Rd, Finglas.
There are signs for “Jamestown Business Park” at the entrance, on the same side and just up from Johnston Mooney and O’Brien Bakery opposite the Daybreak convenience store.

100 metres turn left at the T junction
100 metres turn right at Kempis Sales

From The North Road roundabout onto St Margaret’s Road
Pass Lidl and Aldi on the left
The entrance to Jamestown Business Park is 100 metres past Aldi, on the right hand side.

Come down to the T junction (Large red building)
Turn Right, follow the road left and then right and Electronic Recycling are 150 metres on the right hand side

Retailers drop off


Under regulations introduced in 2014, retailers are no longer permitted to deliver Household WEEE to Civic Amenity sites.

We can accept Household WEEE from registered retailers. The programme is free to use by registered retailers as the cost of recycling is covered by Irish Producers through their WEEE compliance schemes.

We can also organise collection of “Household WEEE” and Batteries for retailers. There is a charge for collection

Retailers of Electrical and Electronic Equipment and Batteries are subject to The WEEE Directive and Irish WEEE Regulations, see links below

Under the waste regulations S.I. No. 149 of 2014 – European Union (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Regulations 2014. and S.I. No. 283 of 2014 – European Union (Batteries and Accumulators) Regulations 2014 certain obligations are placed on Retailers of WEEE and/or Batteries.

Retailer duties include the environmentally safe handling of WEEE and Batteries (e.g. in store take back of goods, storage etc.)


Specifically the following section of the WEEE regulations applies to retailers

Storage of waste electrical and electronic equipment
21. Any establishment or undertaking carrying out the collection or treatment of waste electrical and electronic equipment, shall ensure that its storage of waste electrical and electronic equipment complies with the technical requirements as set out in Schedule 8

Batteries
According to the Regulations, all retail outlets that sell batteries are now obliged to take back old batteries of similar type.


There is no charge or obligation on consumers to purchase new batteries at participating outlets. The cost of recycling is borne by Producers through their Compliance Schemes


Electronic Recycling will accept batteries from registered retailers as part of the drop off facility service.
